NLP-Based News Analysis
Built a system to monitor and analyze news data, extracting company mentions, classifying topics, and evaluating sentiment to surface relevant insights. Designed a semantic similarity layer to flag articles related to environmental risks.
Real-time emotion detection with deep learning
Developed a real-time computer vision system that detects and classifies facial emotions from a webcam video stream. Trained a CNN model to recognize multiple emotions and integrated it with OpenCV for live face detection.
Titanic Survival Classifier
Built a machine learning model to predict passenger survival using structured data. Performed exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to improve model performance, achieving competitive accuracy on the Kaggle leaderboard.
AI system for credit risk assessment
Built a credit risk prediction system to estimate the likelihood of customer loan default. Preprocessed highly imbalanced financial data, trained and evaluated an XGBoost classifier with ROC-AUC and early stopping, and used SHAP to explain individual risk scores.
ML model for generating stock trading signals
Developed a machine learning strategy to predict short-term market movements from historical stock data. Engineered RSI, MACD, and Bollinger Bands, trained a Random Forest classifier with time-series cross-validation and ROC-AUC, and backtested it against the S&P 500 while avoiding data leakage.
